Florida Health Insurance Plans

Florida Health Insurance Plans can be very easily found these days on the Internet. Many polls taken by the Boston Globe reported, “American’s without health insurance coverage has increased by over 20% from 2004″. 65% of those didn’t realize that health insurance is the number one reason people in the United States go bankrupt. They also reported that “healthcare in the United States needs huge reform”, with inflation increasing in huge numbers annually; it’s difficult to find the perfect solution. What does America need to do about health insurance reform?

Florida health insurance is something that all of Florida residents and businesses would require at some point in time. One of the major concerns of Florida residents though is that the health insurance prices are constantly on the rise. Then there is another significant portion of the population that believes that they don’t need health insurance simply because they are healthy and have never had a major medical problem. This is actually a negative way of thinking and lulling oneself into a false sense of security, because in reality all of us do need Florida health insurance. What is more with a little bit of detailed search you can actually locate many insurers, who can offer you affordable Florida health insurance policies.

The first place that you can look around for an affordable Florida health insurance is your state Medicaid. All the states in the US have a Medicaid program and it is there for helping you remember. You can always apply to the program and find out whether you qualify for this type of health insurance program. All you need to do is to visit the local division of Family Services in the city you live in Florida and fill out an application form. The entire process can be gone through quickly as mostly the form would be all about filling out details about your finances. The program covers an entire array of health insurance needs meant for your whole family. From dental work to emergency care, eye care and much more are covered under the program. The program is especially beneficial for those who have children and whose job does not offer insurance coverage for their children. What is more, the service is free. You can get a lot of detailed information on the program over the Internet.

Need A Florida Health Insurance Agency?

The internet is also a good place to search for other insurance plans that would perfectly suite the needs of your family. Doing a thorough analysis of your current financial situation is a good way to start your search for an insurance plan. You can always get in touch with some of your family members or friends to find out about a particular insurance company. Going through referrals is always a good way to find out about the credentials of an insurance company. This way you can get a good idea about the duration the particular company has been into this business and their standing in the market. It is always preferable that you get in touch with multiple insurance companies. This way you can ask for separate quotes on health insurance from all these companies. After getting these quotes you can always sit, compare and then settle for the best deal possible.

Check for the authenticity of the particular insurance company. An insurance company should have been licensed to practice in Florida. Another good source to put you through to a good insurance plan would be your insurance agent. Since they would be in touch with several insurance companies, they would be able to give you honest advice on the numerous Florida health insurance plans available to you.

Obama health Care Cadillac tax

I find it interesting that some people see ” Tax “Cadillac” Coverage” as a cost cutting matter…..

IN FACT it does not affect the cost, price or rate of increase of health insurance…. It is in the most simple form of redistribution of assets..

The cost of healthcare will still be the same.  Just people with more money will be paying for people with less money.

Is this a healthcare issue? or a socialism issue?

Ralph Replied with the following debate (which reminded me we have many other issues we need to get reversed)

I guess that depends on how you define socialism. Conservatives cried socialism over child labor laws, minimum wage laws, Social Security, workers compensation, unemployment compensation, Medicare and other programs that have become accepted, useful components of our democratic free enterprise system. As I understand it, so-called Cadillac plans are believed to contribute to over usage of medical care and they give a tax advantage to those fortunate enough to have them compared to people who pay health insurance premiums with after tax earnings,

To which I replied-

“programs that have become accepted, useful components of our democratic free enterprise system” – I would say that we have not had anyone strong enough to do what needs to be done since Reagan and that fewer people grumble about these issues as there are bigger fish to fry but that is a different debate :-)

PS I do agree with most of the child labor laws :-)

Cadillac plans are based ONLY on cost of the plan as it is/will be define in tax law, not on how much care is received… since they will be through private insurance the government should in theory (due to HIPPA laws) not be able to track the cost or the amount of care received by individuals

The “Cadillac tax” is referring to excise tax in the Obama health care Bill under the heading “Subtitle A—Revenue Offset Provisions”(interesting name – Revenue off set sounds a lot like revenue sharing)

Those 40% “excise taxes” tax cosmetic surgery and tanning under section 9017 and 10907, they also tax costly coverage (based on cost only) in section 9001 and 10907

Don’t be a Pelosi – Read the bill! :-)

Sticky: Obama Healthcare is Not a Winner in the View of Some Individuals

Some new polls reveal the Obama healthcare is not a positive thing in the eyes of many people. In fact, many Americans expect that the new health reform law will only cause the quality of care to decline, while costs rise. Public opinion polls show that many believe that Obama healthcare will degrade health care and jack up costs, even though it does help reduce the enormous numbers of people who are now not able to afford health insurance.

One of the biggest issues so far is that many Americans simply do not understand what the law means for them. Skepticism concerning Obama healthcare is apparent on several fronts, including:

Quality of care. A Washington Post survey found that only 18 percent of those involved in the survey expect the quality of health care to rise, while 44 percent believe that the quality of their health care will deteriorate due to the reforms. A CNN/Opinion Research poll found that 39 percent of Americans believe that the law will put their families in worse position, while 22 percent believe that their families will be better off.

On the light side of Obama healthcare, a February Newsweek poll found that a strong majority were in favor of requiring insurance companies to offer coverage to individuals regardless of pre-existing health conditions. Americans also seem somewhat divided on the issue of mandated health care, where individuals who are currently uninsured are forced to buy coverage. In a Newsweek poll, 59% of those polled supported this idea, while only 45% were supportive of mandated health care in a CNN/Opinion Research poll.

Some believe that Obama healthcare will cause many people to wait until they are sick before they buy insurance. According to some, working Americans who are money savvy will become uninsured, even if they are currently insured, then stay that way until they need medical attention. Once they recover, they will drop it again until the next time they need coverage. Some economists even suggest that while there are 15 million people who can now afford to buy health insurance but fail to do so, that number may triple or quadruple in the next five years.

Honey call John and tell him we will take that health insurance policy.... the one that has no deductible and $1 co-payments!

Economists also believe that Obama healthcare will send health insurance premiums through the roof, because insurers are mandated to cover alternative care and pricey wellness services. The New England Journal of Medicine states that it is believed 50% of physicians will leave the field of medicine, but realistically the number of practicing physicians may decrease by 10 to 15% over a five year time period.

Governor Rick Perry of Texas stated recently that President Obama’s signature on Congress’s disastrous health care plan was a disappointment to everyone who values limited government, bipartisanship and most of all, quality and affordable health care. He, along with many others, find that it is almost impossible to believe that Obama healthcare has brought the nation to a point where the federal government is forcing individuals to purchase a specific product, and threatening to impose fines on those who do not cooperate.

It’s very clear that opinions concerning Obama healthcare vary greatly, and many are still unsure of exactly what will happen. Many have asked questions regarding mandated health care, such as how they can afford insurance then if they cannot afford it now. It will be interesting to see just what effect Obama healthcare does have on the nation in the future, and how the opinions change over time.

U.s. in Store for Trillion-dollar Deficits, Says President-elect Barack Obama

Herbert/AP President-elect Barack Obama speaks to reporters after a meeting with his top economic advisers Tuesday.

WASHINGTON-President-elect Barack Obama forecast trillion-dollar deficits for “years to come” on Tuesday, arguing that the government has no choice but busting the federalbudget to rescue a precarious economy.

“We’re already looking at a trillion-dollar budget deficit or closeto a trillion-dollar budget deficit,” Obama told reporters at a meetingwith his economic team.

“Potentially we’ve got trillion-dollar deficits for years to come, even with the economic recovery that we are working on at this point,”he warned.

The federal deficit stood at $455 billion when the 2008 fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2008.

Obama wants to pump at least $775 billion into the economy through a two-year stimulus spending plan. Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada this week predicted the plan could be in the ballpark of $1.2 trillion.

“Obama is sending a plan to Congress knowing it’s going to increase. The $775 billion is just a baseline. It could balloon to over atrillion dollars,” said a Senate leadership source.

Obama’s economic rescue package includes a $300 billion middle-classtax cut and comes on top of the $800 billion bailout plans for theailing finance and banking industries and the Big Three automakers.

“We’re going to be investing an extraordinary amount of money tojump-start our economy, save or create 3 million new jobs, mostly inthe private sector, and lay a solid foundation for future growth,”Obama said.

He wants to expand unemployment benefits, increase food stampallotments and boost construction jobs. He also is consideringsubsidizing up to 65% of health insurance costs for laid-off workers, sources confirmed to the Daily News.

Obama took a jab at President Bush, saying his administration will restore transparency and accountability to government.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is pushing to include an expanded college tuition tax credit somiddle-class families can write off $4,000 per child. Obama likes theidea, but isn’t sure it should be included in the stimulus legislationor a separate bill.

Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky urged Congress to proceed slowly – ignoring climbing unemployment, slumping housing and retail sales, a gridlocked credit market andskyrocketing tuition costs.

“We should encourage, not discourage questions,” said McConnell, whowarned Democrats against a “reckless rush to meet an arbitrarydeadline.”

But as the measure is cobbled together, the President-elect againput Congress on notice he won’t tolerate a plan that includespork-barrel “earmarks” for projects like Alaska’s notorious bridge to nowhere.

“I’m saying there are no earmarks in the recovery package. That is the position that I am taking,” Obama said.

Congress has pledged to curtail the often politically motivatedearmarks – money appropriated in the middle of the night for petprojects.

A senior Senate source disclosed Obama is working most closely with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on the spending plan.

“The Senate is going to play follow the leader on this one. Obamahas decided Pelosi is the person to drive the stimulus package. We’rejust going along for the ride,” the Senate source said.

The “o” in Obama and Outsourcing!

History was created on 20th January 2009 as Barrack Obama took oath as the 44th President of the United States of America. The first Afro-American President took office on the same day as the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr, the civil right activist who championed the cause of equality between the races in America almost half a century ago!

The entire world watched in awe, inspiration and hope as Mr. Obama became the Chief-Commander of the most powerful nation on the earth and hoped that with him will come a new era of peace, progress and prosperity.

Obama’s views on most things have been very balanced, practical and hope-giving and he is hailed as a rational and practical statesman, yet the outsourcing industry is still trying to asses his complete standpoint on the big “O” of Outsourcing!

Under “OBAMANOMICS” (as journalist call Obama’s take on most economic issues), his views are not completely clear.

On one hand he has said that outsourcing as a business and economic trend cannot be “reversed” yet on the other hand he has brought in The Patriot Employer Act of 2007, that states,

• All US business would have to maintain its headquarters in the US only

• 60% of each employee’s health care must be paid by the company

• The business must pay a minimum wage as per the Federal poverty level

• The business must match roughly 5% of each employee’s salary in retirement benefits

What affects the call center outsourcing industry is this clause -

• The business must maintain or increase its percentage of domestic employment in comparison to offshore employment to be specified as a “Patriot” employer. This guarantees him a 1% tax waiver.

In order to finance this tax break, US companies with subsidiaries abroad will have to pay corporate tax on profits earned abroad in USA and not in the country it is earned.

This has two implications;

One, it means that outsourcers will think twice before off shoring because that will make them miss the 1% tax benefit.

Secondly, the profitability of US firms will go down as the tax structure in US is more than those in China, Hong Kong, India etc resulting in greater tax outflows.

Next in line is Secretary of Commerce, Bill Richardson, who again strongly stands against American businesses getting attracted to the outsourcing business. He is quoted as saying, “Outsourcing is a problem and most of it is technical. To fight it we need to upgrade our science and math standards in our school. It is education that will help us keep those jobs here”.

Although the President himself is a very tech-savvy man himself and does understand the great economic benefits of outsourcing for US firms yet he cannot in any way underplay the politics of outsourcing as during this recessionary mode, more and more people are looking at him to provide some magical relief from the financial crunch and the President will have to deliver. We are “Hopeful” as President Obama always says; and so is the outsourcing industry in India and the rest of Asia!

Riots & Ruined Dollar?

General Motors hit a road bump by the name of the U.S. Senate on their way to collecting a few BILLION from you and I. It seems that a couple of Senators have the sham figured out. It’s the UNIONS! The unions want the bailout bucks so they can keep their position and power. Bankruptcy wouldn’t be the end of GM, but it would sure hurt the unions. It seems some are figuring out that bankruptcy is better than riots which is just what might happen if GM and auto industry is bailed out while others are not.

Pesky presidential candidates and Congressman Ron Paul says that bailouts of U.S. corporations are “bad morally” — and that current federal economic policies “will literally destroy the dollar.”  Paul also insists that the use of “counterfeit” paper money instead of a gold-backed currency is “insane,” and declares it is “foolhardy” for Barack Obama to propose national health care under the present economic conditions.

Meanwhile, prospects for passage of a $14 billion auto industry rescue package dimmed Thursday amid strong Republican opposition, despite urgent appeals by both President-elect Barack Obama and the Bush White House. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell came out against the legislation – the product of a hard-fought behind-the-scenes compromise between the majority Democrats and the White House. And not even the White House’s argument that it was crucial at a time of rising joblessness seemed to restore lost momentum for enactment.

Who believes Congress or the president anyway?  :-(

In an interview following a Dec. 10 press conference where he and four other senators aired their opposition to the oposed bailout deal struck by congressional leaders and the White House (and approved by the U.S. House of Representatives 237-170 that evening), Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., warned that the perception that some industries are being bailed out and some aren’t could lead to violence.

Violence?

“We’re going to have riots. There are already people rioting because they’re losing their jobs when everybody else is being bailed out. The fairness of it becomes more and more evident as we go along. The auto companies may be hurting,” he said, but “there are very few companies that aren’t hurting and they’re going to hurt. We don’t have enough money to bail everyone out.”

Can you  relate?

By bailing out institutions and industries with hundreds of billions of dollars, we’re creating another hell call hyper-inflation just two years down the road. But of course, we keep those who have literally one bankrupt in business. Does than make sense or resonate with you?
