Thank You and Welcome

As always, I’m proud to be a holistic life coach who lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one of the fine states in the United States of America. The events of this last week make me even more proud.

First of all we say so long, but not good-by to a good, decent man who was our president for eight years. President Bush served us with honesty, decency and integrity. I have to say when I watched his farewell address on Tuesday night I was immensely proud. This fine man thanked Americans all over the globe, paid tribute to who have served with him and gave special thanks to our military. As a mom of a former Air Force member, I appreciated that very much. Most important, Mr. Bush assured his fellow Americans that he respects and appreciates and has confidence in our new president, President Obama. Job well done, thank you so very much.

For his part, President Obama thanked the out-going administration for a job well done. He spoke with respect of our past presidents and assures all Americans, regardless of political affiliations that he will be striving to do his best for all.

I see hopeful faces whenever the conversation about politics opens up. Americans have elected our first president of color and for many this encourages them to become engaged in the political and voting process as never before. From my point of view, I encourage all to be supportive of our new president. As far as I’m concerned it doesn’t matter who I voted for, we as a country have selected our new president. It’s now my job to stand behind him, respectfully speak up about policies that I do not like and strongly get behind those that I do support. I do not see our president so much as a Democrat or Republican as our leader. President Obama is the president of all Americans and I believe that we will all benefit if we find a way to work with one another with respect and a positive attitude.

So, once again I would like to thank President Bush for all that he has done for our country, I appreciate it and wish him and his family health, prosperity and peace.

I would also like to welcome President Obama. I wish him success as he works hard for all Americans; I also wish him and his family health, prosperity and peace.

Wishing you a fabulous day, filled with hope and excitement as all Americans celebrate the beginning of a new presidency.

Warmly,
Sandy

An Open Letter to Obama & Mccain

An Open Letter To McCain & Obama
By Joy Kapur

As Commander-in-chief and as president of the greatest democracy on this planet, one of you will control and influence the destinies of not only the U.S. citizens but every being on this planet.

Our country needs a change. We need a president with a different mind-set…a president who is awakened and responsive to the planetary needs of the 21st century world. Each president that comes into power has a responsibility to the next generation that will follow this generation.

Can we have peace on this planet so long as we have human suffering? Hundreds of millions of people are starving across the planet while a privileged few live in sinful luxury and unthinkable opulence. We need to bring out the individual and collective consciousness of the human species and spur them to choose between life and death.
Our economic, social and political lives have to be guided by higher spiritual values, using not only our heads but hearts as well. What good is to gain all earthly treasures and pleasures but no peace -it is like having the most luxurious bed to sleep on, but tossing and turning all night long and not getting a wink of sleep. Accumulation of wealth and material comfort is not the cause of human sufferings; it is the lower values of greed and selfishness in the pursuit of wealth, which are to be blamed.

Shift From The Heart

We cannot become better citizens of the world unless we become better individuals at heart based on more spiritual wisdom and believing in the oneness of human race. The goal is to love others as ourselves, unconditionally, to share our joys and sorrows with our neighbors. These are the basic values of unity and peace in the family, in the community, in the nation, in the world and in the oneness of the universe at large.

Globalization Through Heart-Based Life

Social devastation and mass killings in Iraq by vested interests on both sides and silence by the media on both sides, underscore the complicity of us all. It is crime against humanity of catastrophic proportions, where cruelty, violence, mass murder and social upheaval is being perpetuated by both sides. We must help Iraq in its stabilization efforts using the huge oil revenues that they are generating. Similarly we must crack down on radical terrorists, whether they are in USA, Europe, Middle East, Iran, Africa, Russia, India or Ceylon not only with weapons but by spreading goodwill to change their minds and hearts and by reforming them to be the citizens of the world.

Children of the One Universal Spirit are we all men of diverse religions, and no religion, believers and non-believers , says Lord Krishna in Gita.

There is no difference between two human beings, the only difference is the wisdom and purity at the heart level, highly expressed or poorly expressed, radiating with His light or missing of His glow, the difference is only of degrees not of kind. There is no difference between the rich and the powerful or the poor and the weak. The universal spirit is ever present in the depths of every human heart.

I would rather see a candidate who is all hearts, one who is concerned about 24,000 hunger related deaths each day, who can awaken our hearts to universal love, who is willing and able to minimize social inequities and who sees the danger of poverty as weapon of mass destruction and one who has the vision to care and foster love and understanding from the heart, to bring peace and joy to all, by honoring the earth and its people of all lands and cultures and celebrating the unity of human spirit.

Unless and until we get deeply anchored into the heart and its eternal springs of kindness, generosity, truth and unconditional love, there will be no lasting peace on this planet.

‘Follow Your Heart’ should be the slogan of United Nations. This is the only prescription the world needs. Follow the dictates of your heart. Purity resides in your heart; when you get anchored there you become one with love; loving thoughts, loving words and loving deeds. Feel that love, that energy, that vitality, that light which emanates from an awakened heart.
The unforgivable mistakes of the past can be best rectified if the collective wisdom of the modern age is best used to mingle the conflicting ideologies by being flexible and understanding each other from the heart and the understanding the other point of view and developing a sense of empathy and caring for others.

Be The Change

The question is not what the United Nations can do for us but what we, each individual who inhabits this planet can do or should do. Be the change, said Mahatma Gandhi that you want to bring to this world. The world is full of rich philanthropists and generous entrepreneurs, but they only touch 1% of the population with their contributions. What is needed is to create a model at the grass root level in every remote village and every remote outpost where there no access to even clean water facilities, much less hospitals or educational institutions.
As Dalai Lama puts it very empathetically…”to develop scope of ones empathy in such a way that it can extend to any form of life that has the capacity to feel pain and experience happiness.”

What The World Needs

What good are the booming economies across the planet, if we cannot feed the hungry masses and put food on their plates? Big corporation and vested interests behind every government are only interested to take care of their own interests. There are more than one billion people across the third world countries that are slowly starving to death and facing permanent disabilities. The so called progress is destroying the resources and needs of the poor. The need of the day is to educate and feed every child that goes to bed hungry, create housing for 800 million plus homeless across the planet, clean water facilities in each village in every third world country, not just the cities alone, providing permanent security for every elderly person who cannot take care of himself, providing free medical aid and dignified living for those who cannot afford.

We need people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet & Oprah Winfrey, who are the new faces of Capitalism. But that does not stop us from meeting the challenge of radical terrorism head-on with all the means at our disposal.

We Are One!
We are one,…one as the rainbow colors in the white light, one as in universal oneness of mankind and one with universal divine intelligence. Universal love has no barriers, makes no barriers and knows no barriers of language, race, color or creed. It is delusion of separateness that is the root cause of all evils and misery. We cannot be really happy if our fellow beings are suffering. We are all one, connected together from our hearts with the same infinite Energy. Oneness of mankind is linked from the purity of the heart. We are one with the universe. We need a leader who can mend the broken hearts and build bridges of love and understanding.

The Obama Factor- Tourism in the Caribbean

When asked which of the Caribbean islands is the most beautiful, the debate is endless and almost always without consensus. Barack Obama may well change that. Very few travelers who have hiked the trails through La Sierra de los Organos to the spectacular Vinales Valley , or strolled the white sands of Varandne will vote for anyplace other than Cuba . The only factor standing between Cuba being a travel destination of choice for the U.S. traveler is of course, the U.S. Policy toward Cuba .

But what if the U.S. Policy would change? What are the implications for Cuba , as well as the Bahamas and the Caribbean nations whose economies depend almost entirely on tourism? When Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States on January 20, 2009, there will be change. Only the nature and pace of the change is as of yet unknown.

During a campaign swing through Miami , celebrating Cuban Independence Day, Obama said, “My policy toward Cuba will be guided by one word: ‘libertad,’ the Spanish word for liberty. His promise to the Cuban-Americans was to lower travel restrictions for Cuban-Americans visiting family members, plus an increase in the allowable money transfers to Cuba . Many expect this promise to be honored in the first 30 days of the Obama Presidency. He is also expected to expand the people-to-people exchange policy initiated by the Clinton administration, and all but eliminated under the Bush administration. The number of academics, church groups, students and other groups without commercial purpose traveling to Cuba would increase dramatically.

The real question is whether Raul Castro will respond favorably to these changes in U.S. Policy and begin his own policy changes affording the Cuban populace more personal liberties. If that door opens would Obama and the U.S. Congress consider lifting the embargo and allowing unlimited commercial and personal travel? And what would that mean?

The U.S. traveler will win; Cuba ‘s economy will win, but I wonder what of the other countries of the Caribbean and their need for the tourist dollar? Is there enough to go around? While the residents of the Bahamas and the Caribbean countries overwhelming favored Obama for president, citing “change” as the critical factor, many experts are concerned harder times are coming for the tourism industry. These difficult times would only be exacerbated by an increase in Cuban tourism.

Furthermore, the government coffers of many Caribbean countries have grown fat with the influx of high end resort developments spending, and promises to spend, hundreds of millions of dollars to develop large tracts of land, often very remote, into high end developments featuring golf courses, casinos and marinas built for the largest luxury yacht. These vacation, investment or second homes often are priced well over a million dollars. A cornerstone of the Obama campaign was his promise to raise income taxes for anybody who could afford one of these properties. An entry from an expat blog, the Belize Gringo, “………the tax reforms that Obama plans to put in place would severely cut the disposable income that this income tax bracket previously spent on vacationing and investing in Belize ” is representative of the concern.

For those Caribbean countries whose financial and banking sectors generate a significant source of national income, Obama policies may also have an impact. He is a staunch supporter of eliminating tax havens in the Caribbean , having proposed the “Stop Tax Haven Abuse Bill” while in the Senate. The French and Germans have suggested a primary blame for the world wide banking crisis is the existence of these tax havens and have discussed embargos to force change. It would be strange world if at the end of the Obama presidency the trade and travel restrictions now imposed on Cuba have been moved to the Caymans and other “tax havens.”

The first ninety days of any presidency is often viewed as a measuring stick for the next four years. No group will be watching the Obama Presidency closer than the Caribbean community.

Changing Employment Laws in 2009: What You Need to Know

For many, the dawn of 2009 holds a great deal of uncertainty, while for others it represents a chance at a fresh start and the potential for improvement – whether personal, professional, financial, or some combination of the three. For the human resources industry, 2009 will undoubtedly be a year in which changes in our government and our economy will be noticeably reflected in changes to employment law. The election in 2008 played host to a huge number of ballot issues regarding hiring processes and worker benefits. Such issues are again at the top of the incumbent legislature’s agenda in 2009, and will have a direct impact on not only the American worker, but on the employers and HR professionals responsible for their pay and benefits.

After examining a number of the bills proposed and voted into action for 2009, leading research indicates some overall legislative trends emerging in three major areas of human resources:

Healthcare Reform

As the number of Americans without insurance continues to rise, finding a way to provide individuals with better access to affordable healthcare was at the forefront of heated issues in the 2008 election. While already a major issue in 2008, the incoming Congress has recently announced that healthcare reform will be among its top priorities this year. Just prior to the start of 2009, for example, Congress passed the Mental Health Parity Act, a measure requiring many employers to broaden their mental health and substance abuse coverage for employees.

Meanwhile, a number of states and municipalities introduced new legislation addressing employers’ responsibilities concerning the health of their employees. Washington, DC and Milwaukee, for instance, passed initiatives mandating that employers provide paid sick leave for workers. New Jersey joined the movement by signing into law a bill requiring employers to give six weeks paid leave to staff members caring for a sick relative or new child.

However, in light of the economic crisis, further healthcare legislation may not increase quite as dramatically as once expected – on the state level, at least. The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) predicts that in light of “widespread budget shortfalls predicted in nearly half of the nation, health care reform is likely to be less of a front-burner issue in the states.” Instead, SRHM predicts that cash-strapped state legislatures will be looking to the new administration to handle this issue on a federal level.

Immigration Reform

A hot-button issue with immediate implications for employers and HR professionals, immigration was the topic of a significant number of bills introduced in 2008. A total of 26 states passed new legislation addressing immigration concerns, many of which imposed new penalties on companies employing undocumented aliens.

Playing a large role in much of the new immigration legislation was E-Verify, the government’s Employment Eligibility Verification System. In 2009, all federal contractors and subcontractors will be required to use the system. Likewise on the state level, many immigration bills passed in 2008 require employers to use E-Verify or similar systems to ensure they are not hiring illegal workers.

Unlike the issue of healthcare reform, immigration legislation is predicted to continue occurring mainly at the state level while, according to SHRM, any sort of comprehensive reform at the congressional level is considered “unlikely.” Again, however, due to the budget shortfalls and the economic crisis it is difficult to predict whether states across the country will see a continued push for immigration reform. However, in some more conservative U.S. regions like the South and Midwest, employer penalties for hiring illegal workers may be more severe.

Workplace Safety

Concerns about workplace safety and efforts to increase employee health and wellness were evident in a number of new state laws put into effect in 2009. Safety concerns ranged from matters such as office air quality to more grave issues like gun control in the workplace.

On a federal level, increased attention to workplace safety was made clear in a large increase in government money directed toward the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for its 2009 fiscal year. OSHA received a budget increase of $15.7 million, part of which is being used to conduct increased workplace inspections in 2009. Likewise, the incoming presidential administration has touted workplace safety as a priority, and is predicted to take a second look at several previously failed workplace safety bills, including the regulation of combustible dusts in the workplace and mandating stricter ergonomics requirements for employees working in the healthcare industry.

On a state level, Oregon passed a law requiring all workplaces to be “smoke free,” prohibiting smoking within ten feet of the entrance to a building or worksite. In the meantime, eight other states, concerned with a growing number of gun-related incidents in the workplace, have enacted various laws concerning an employer’s right to limit the possession of weapons on company property.

While only time will tell how these potential changes to federal and state policies will play out over the course of the next year, staying aware and informed of proposed legislation can help employers and HR professionals prepare in advance for new regulations, develop appropriate contingency plans, and ensure a smooth and compliant transition if and when the changes occur.

Alternative Medicine And Its Important Role In Your Healthcare.

Alternative Medicine is redefining the boundaries of individual health and well being and is beginning to change the definition of what it means to be healthy in today’s fast-paced, stress-filled environment and offers a whole new realm of options for today’s consumer to choose from in the process of determining their healthcare needs.

You may be surprised to discover that Alternative Medicine may be covered in your healthcare policy, which offers a broader scope of coverage than managed care alone, and may well reduce your overall cost of healthcare in general and even improve the future quality of life that you and your family will enjoy in the years to come.

The realization that the definition of health should be, and can be, far better than simply, free from injury or disease, represents a gradual shift in the way of thinking for both the consumer as well as the healthcare provider. It is this realization that is allowing Alternative Medicine to not only enter mainstream modern medicine, but also to partner with Conventional Medicine in a new and profound way as one of many successful avenues of treatment available to today’s consumer of health.

Fifteen to Twenty years ago, there were few recognized, alternatives to conventional medicine, at least not in the West. This is not to say that alternatives did not exist, quite the contrary, they were simply not considered a serious option in improving ones health. This is no longer the case.
Dissatisfaction with the managed care system of the past decade, coupled with one important event and a slight shift in thinking created the perfect conditions for Alternative Medicine to flourish.

First, the cost of healthcare skyrocketed. Rising costs for diagnostic and treatment of injury and disease fueled an inevitable shift in focus, primarily from treatment to prevention, and this created the perfect niche that would soon be filled by the proactive stance that Alternative Medicine prevention provides. Simply put, when costs rise people begin asking questions and seeking alternatives.

Second, with the Information Age in full swing, access to quality information from a variety of sources translated into patients being better informed of healthcare issues and therefore more involved in their treatment options, if for no other reason than as a means to reduce their overall healthcare costs.

Alternative Medicine and Conventional Medicine approach healthcare issues in very different ways.
Conventional Medicine hinges on “the diagnosis of a patient’s condition. This means that conventional medicine enters the healthcare process after the patient has been injured or after an ailment or disease has progressed to the level where an accurate diagnosis can be made. Once made, the diagnosis dictates both the treatment, accomplished via drug therapy and/or surgery, and the cost. Conventional Medicine exits the healthcare process once the malady has been identified, cured, or removed and is normally a temporary fix.

Contrast this to Alternative Medicine, which is focused on “preventing a problem, meaning that Alternative Medicine by its very nature attempts, and prefers, to enter the healthcare process before the patient is injured or becomes ill. Prevention is the first line of defense. When this frontline is penetrated by injury or disease, Alternative Medicine makes every attempt to “assist the body in healing itself, via natural means, whenever and wherever possible.

Alternative Medicine is thus non-invasive, even passive and more long-term, meaning that it becomes part of a consumer’s healthcare regime and does not so quickly exit the health process, if at all. This will translate into lower costs for wellness over the lifespan of an individual. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and at no other time has this statement been more true, especially if the cure requires an expensive antibiotic, surgery and/or an extended, or even brief, hospital stay.

Nutrition and lifestyle changes alone can easily reduce the incidence of costly injury and disease, decrease the need for costly maintenance medications and increase the likelihood of a better quality of life.

The healthcare consumer of today is expected to be both well informed and totally involved in the decisions surrounding their personal health and well being. Not limited to local or even national healthcare options, the patient of this next century will enjoy global access to both information and treatment options.

Healthcare policies are already positioning themselves for this global marketplace and are embracing Alternative Medicine as a means of lowering their own liability and costs as well as expanding their consumer pool. Consumers should make sure their healthcare policies reflect these changing attitudes and include a much broader spectrum of healthcare options.

What is the quality of your health worth? Today’s “non-traditional healthcare programs are the cornerstone of holistic health and the mainstay of the future quality of life that you and your family will enjoy in the years to come. Make sure your policy answers this question to the greatest satisfaction for you and your family.

Fighting Healthcare Costs

Succeeding in a small business in America can be a daily battle.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has reported that out of every ten small businesses that are created, only two remain after ten years.1 And while a 20% survival rate can be scary enough to deal with, so can employee benefits costs, mainly, healthcare.

Healthcare costs continue to skyrocket across the board. And while big companies and small businesses continue to struggle to keep costs low, it’s usually small businesses that get hit the hardest. Healthcare costs continue to rise, sometimes with double-digit increases every year.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t options available. Recently, more light has been shed on additional options to help small businesses save money and still offer healthcare.

Several options exist to help small companies reduce costs. One of the most popular is encouraging employees to get individual health insurance. Instead of you, the employer, subsidizing a large percentage of it, the cost of healthcare is shifted to the employee. And on average, individual premiums are less expensive than those of group plans.

And employers can help the employee out by giving a reimbursement to cover some of the costs, or by helping the employee handle their Section 125 deduction. Either way, the small business owner can reduce costs a great deal using this method and oftentimes it can be a less expensive route than the one currently used.

Another increasingly utilized option is to offer Section 105 plans to employees. Section 105 plans allow the employer to purchase a higher-deductible, (but lower cost), insurance coverage for their employees. The high-deductible is offset through an employer-controlled, tax-advantage fund that pays claims to the employees for medical costs below the deductible. The result is savings for the employer and the employee.

But not all companies will benefit from a Section 105. As with all plans, it’s important to consult with a financial professional to decide what type of healthcare savings can be achieved in your small business.

Section 105’s and encouraging the purchase of individual insurance are two ways to potentially save your small business money, at a time when small businesses are getting hit the hardest by healthcare costs. Making the tough decisions in all aspects of your business, and studying all your healthcare options to reduce costs as much as possible may just be one of the things that keeps you in the surviving 20% of small businesses.

What You Should Know About Hipaa and Hipaa Compliance

HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. It is a federal law enacted in 1996 as an attempt at incremental health care reform and experts consider it to be the most significant health care legislation since Medicare in 1965.

HIPAA’s intent is to reform the healthcare industry by reducing costs, simplifying administrative processes and burdens, and improving privacy and security of patient’s information.

There are two separate and distinct laws that fall under the HIPAA umbrella: HIPAA Privacy and HIPAA Security.  HIPAA Privacy relates to the protection and privacy of individuals’ protected health information (PHI) while HIPAA security relates to the protection and privacy of individuals’ protected health information in electronic form (ePHI).  HIPAA Privacy is what most of us think about when we hear the term HIPAA ( HIPAA Awareness Training, Notice of Privacy Practices, Authorization forms, etc )whereas HIPAA Security tends to be more the focus of an organization’s IT department because it deals with encryption, electronic security, disaster recovery, etc.

Do you have to worry about HIPAA?  There are two main classifications under HIPAA: Covered Entities and Business Associates.  Covered Entities are those types of organizations/individuals that deal directly with protected health information and consist of healthcare providers, health insurance providers, and employer sponsored group health plans. Anyone outside of those categories is considered a business associate.  Business associates include medical billing companies, medical storage, marketing organizations, software companies, medical device manufacturers, etc.

While the DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) regulates covered entities, business associates are regulated by the covered entities they work with through a business associate agreement (alternatively called business associate contract).

HIPAA compliance involves two main components: one being HIPAA training of employees and the other implementing processes, procedures, and forms related to HIPAA.

While alot of regulations in HIPAA may seem like common sense, think of them as just providing some level of standardization so an individual and the organizations involved in their care can know what to expect of each other.

HIPAA compliance does not have to be a complicated process and once setup, can be relatively little effort to maintain.

Florida Health Insurance Plans and Agency

Florida Health Insurance Plans can be very easily found these days on the Internet. Many polls taken by the Boston Globe reported, “American’s without health insurance coverage has increased by over 20% from 2004″. 65% of those didn’t realize that health insurance is the number one reason people in the United States go bankrupt. They also reported that “healthcare in the United States needs huge reform”, with inflation increasing in huge numbers annually; it’s difficult to find the perfect solution. What does America need to do about health insurance reform?

Florida health insurance is something that all of Florida residents and businesses would require at some point in time. One of the major concerns of Florida residents though is that the health insurance prices are constantly on the rise. Then there is another significant portion of the population that believes that they don’t need health insurance simply because they are healthy and have never had a major medical problem. This is actually a negative way of thinking and lulling oneself into a false sense of security, because in reality all of us do need Florida health insurance. What is more with a little bit of detailed search you can actually locate many insurers, who can offer you affordable Florida health insurance policies.

The first place that you can look around for an affordable Florida health insurance is your state Medicaid. All the states in the US have a Medicaid program and it is there for helping you remember. You can always apply to the program and find out whether you qualify for this type of health insurance program. All you need to do is to visit the local division of Family Services in the city you live in Florida and fill out an application form. The entire process can be gone through quickly as mostly the form would be all about filling out details about your finances. The program covers an entire array of health insurance needs meant for your whole family. From dental work to emergency care, eye care and much more are covered under the program. The program is especially beneficial for those who have children and whose job does not offer insurance coverage for their children. What is more, the service is free. You can get a lot of detailed information on the program over the internet.

Need A Florida Health Insurance Agency?

The internet is also a good place to search for other insurance plans that would perfectly suite the needs of your family. Doing a thorough analysis of your current financial situation is a good way to start your search for an insurance plan. You can always get in touch with some of your family members or friends to find out about a particular insurance company. Going through referrals is always a good way to find out about the credentials of an insurance company. This way you can get a good idea about the duration the particular company has been into this business and their standing in the market. It is always preferable that you get in touch with multiple insurance companies. This way you can ask for separate quotes on health insurance from all these companies. After getting these quotes you can always sit, compare and then settle for the best deal possible.

Check for the authenticity of the particular insurance company. An insurance company should have been licensed to practice in Florida. Another good source to put you through to a good insurance plan would be your insurance agent. Since they would be in touch with several insurance companies, they would be able to give you honest advice on the numerous Florida health insurance plans available to you.

Obama Free Health Care May Be Available For Those Who Meet Certain Requirements

Obama Free Health Care is not something that is available to everyone, and in fact very few are eligible for.  Some United States citizens and lawful immigrants may be entitled to free health insurance, but only under certain circumstances.  A few of the requirements that may allow you to get health insurance at no cost include:

*  Low income
*  Age group you fall in
*  Certain medical conditions

There are programs in some states that provide Obama Free Health Care for children, when a parent or parents cannot provide coverage for the entire family.  Elderly people often depend on government-subsidized coverage such as Medicaid and Medicare, and those who are disabled often qualify for full Medicaid coverage.

If you are in the market for free health insurance, it’s doubtful that you will qualify for any type of coverage that comes at absolutely no cost.  You are better off looking for affordable health insurance, and can find many providers who offer the coverage you need at substantially lower rates than other providers.  In doing your research, always read all of the fine print; if you talk to an agent, ask any and all question you have so that you know exactly what you are getting.

While it may not actually be considered “Obama Free Health Care,” some states offer benefits such as maternity benefits through Medicaid for pregnant women.  Non-citizens and immigrants may qualify through the Alien Emergency Medical Program if they have a medical condition that is an emergency.  Adults and families may qualify for coverage through Medicaid based on certain qualifications which are often difficult to meet.  The best thing you can do is go online to research the qualifications or call your local Department of Human Services office.

Other than the nearly impossible task of finding free health insurance, there are many organizations that offer quality medical care free of charge.  Some of the programs you may consider include:

Medicaid and Medicare, which you want to apply for if:

*  You believe you are pregnant and have no insurance

*  You are a parent or guardian with a child 18 years or younger

*  You are a senior citizen

*  You are disabled or blind

*  You are leaving welfare and need health coverage

Most states offer free health coverage programs for children of families who are low income, and some even offer free health coverage for those who have AIDS.  There are also special programs that help eligible senior citizens and those who are disabled afford the cost of any prescription medications they may be taking.

Something else you may want to consider when in search of Obama Free Health Care are companies who help you find the coverage you need at the most affordable price.  You might call this “health care coverage counseling,” as these companies help you understand what rights you have and your coverage options.  They will help you find health care you can afford, and evaluate various insurance plans so that you know which are best for your individual needs.

Whether you can find free health insurance depends largely on the state you live in, and the programs available in your area for special needs. Generally speaking, unless you fall in a category that is outside of the norm you are better off spending your time looking for cheap, affordable or low-cost health insurance.  As with most other things in life, nothing is free (most of the time) – especially health insurance.

Creating New Jobs During The Recession

While rising unemployment continues to concern many, the impetus for creating new jobs during the recession remains strong. In an economic climate that seems to threaten the very existence of the United States as people know it, President Obama is determined to turn it around as he stimulates the creation of thousands of jobs across the country.

In particular, President Obama is interested in generating new jobs within the infrastructure sector. From public utilities to roads and highways, new jobs are on the horizon despite the recession. On July 2, 2009, President Obama announced his hopes for a unique opportunity for employment for the American people in the field of energy.

Alternative Energy Employment Opportunities

This strong interest in alternative energy solutions is predicted to create new employment opportunities. In particular, the implementation of a smart grid designed for use with a variety of new and old energy sources, the implementation of new energy production, and the distribution of this energy are predicted to create millions of jobs in the near future. The creation of newly designed power plants should also generate multiple employment opportunities for Americans as the path is paved for alternative methods of bringing electrical power to homes and businesses.

Teaching and Healthcare Employment Opportunities

According to Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney, the stimulus package is designed in part to create new jobs in the fields of education and healthcare, fields that are normally filled with women. Traditionally, these two fields are also recession resistant. Moreover, as unemployed individuals head to college to retrain for new job opportunities, the need for teachers continues to remain strong. The healthcare industry will continue to expand and produce more opportunities for those looking for work.

“Shovel-Ready” Employment Opportunities

A number of “shovel-ready” projects should be able to get under way within each of the fifty states as stimulus money becomes available. Highways and bridges are in need of improvement. The fact that these projects are in the making should produce work for quite a number of people.

Auto Industry Employment Opportunities

New legislation moving through the ranks is about to create new opportunities for the auto industry sector. This bill would provide monetary incentives or vouchers for automobile owners to trade in their older model vehicle for a newer one. Of course, there are a few stipulations as to the type of vehicle that could be purchased with the vouchers, a limited timeframe, and specifications related to the vehicle being turned in. Moreover, in addition to creating new employment opportunities, this legislation is also aimed at creating a greener America.

Creating New Jobs

While the goal is create new jobs during the recession for those who are currently unemployed, the truth of the matter is that some of these employment opportunities will be scooped up by those workers who are displaced by changes within the energy sector. Nonetheless, the goal is to create enough jobs for those who need them, no matter what their current employment situation is.
